Corn Husk Dolls

An ancient American Indian craft, Cornhusk dolls were popular among many tribes. Mary crafts her dolls using traditional methods but the designs are her own. Crafted from oven-dried husks with corn silk or raveled twine hair, they are completely natural. Their accessories include walnut bowls, tiny wicker baskets, dried flowers grown by the artist, and sinamay hats. Each doll comes with a short version of the Legend of the cornhusk doll as told by Mrs. Snow, a Seneca craftswoman. Adult Dolls are all between 8.5 and 9 inches tall. They are made from all natural materials and carry hand-made accessories. The child doll, which is only available with mother, is approximately 6 inches tall. All single dolls are priced at $30.00 and the mother/daughter pair is $42.00 (prices include shipping and handling).
